Jaipur was established in 1727 by Maharaja Jai Singh II as a new capital of Kachwaha dynasty. The city was planned according to the Hindu Architectural principals called Vaastu Shastra. The town of Jaipur is truly built in the form of a nine-part Mandala known as the 'Pithapada'. Hawa Mahal

Hawa Mahal, an important landmark in the city, was built Hawa Mahal by Maharaja Sawai Pratap Singh in 1779. This appears as an epitome of the Rajputana architecture. City Palace

City Palace is one of the architectural marvels of Rajasthan, located peacefully on the banks of Lake Pichola. Built by Maharana Udai Singh, this comes visible as a complex of buildings, palaces, pavilions, temples and gardens. The most salient parts of the palace are Mukut Mahal, Mubarak Mahal, Chandra Mahal, Shri Govind Dev Temple, Maharani’s Palace and the City Palace Museum.

Jantar Mantar

Jantar Mantar or "House of Instruments" in Jaipur is the largest observatories that contains eighteen instruments. Built by Maharaja Jai Singh II between 1727 and 1734, this is inscribed on the World Heritage List as " Expression of the astronomical skills and cosmological concepts to the court of a scholarly prince at the end of the Mughal period".

Jaigarh Fort

This is situated on the Hill of Eagles of the Aravalli hill ranges. It overlooks the Amber Fort and the Maota Lake, near Amber in Jaipur, Rajasthan. Jaigarh Fort is also known as the Victory Fort. Jaigarh Fort was constructed for the security of Jaipur and Amber.

Govind Devji Temple

Govind Devji Temple is a holy shrine dedicated to Lord Krishna, located in the City Palace complex. This temple, the most popular temple in the city, gets constructed in 18th century.

The elephant festival is the most famous festivals of Jaipur. This is held on the eve of Holi in the city and has several fascinating attractions like elephant polo. The festival commences with a procession of elephants, camels, horses and folk dancers. The elephants in the festival get beaded to the full with bright colours, saddle cloth and heavy jeweller. Female elephants declare their presence with anklets. The elephant appearing in this celebration best-adorned is awarded.
